How Do I Find the Best Rhinoplasty Surgeon?

Choosing a qualified rhinoplasty specialist is the most important decision you can make when considering nose surgery.  Your surgeon should be Board Certified in either Plastic Surgery or Otolaryngology / Facial Plastic Surgery. You should also seek a surgeon who dedicates a significant part of his or her practice to rhinoplasty, as rhinoplasty is generally considered the most difficult procedure in plastic surgery.

How Much Does A Rhinoplasty Cost?

The cost of a nose job can vary significantly depending on the needs of the patient.  According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's 2008 Statistics on Cosmetic Surgery, the national average cost for a rhinoplasty in the US was $4,369.
The average rhinoplasty cost in the US has been estimated by Realself.com to be $5,762.  The cost of rhinoplasty can also vary depending on the area of the country where your rhinoplasty specialist practices and his or her level of experience.

Revision rhinoplasty frequently costs more than primary (first-time) rhinoplasty because of the level of complexity and the amount of time operating time that is usually required.

What Can I Expect During Rhinoplasty Recovery?

Most surgeons recommend that their rhinoplasty patients take off a week from work or school.  Usually within one week of surgery, the surgeon will remove the external cast or splint from the exterior of the nose.  When the cast is removed, the nose generally looks swollen and their is mild bruising around the eyes.  Patient are encouraged to avoid any strenous activity, such as exercise after rhinoplasty for 2 to 3 weeks.

How Long Will the Swelling and Bruising Last After Rhinoplasty?

The amount of bruising and swelling after rhinoplasty tapers off over the first 7 to 21 days after surgery. The amount of swelling and bruising depends on factors such as what techniques were used during surgery and the health of the patient.
